I'm the creator of a popular web RPG called Forumwarz (http://www.forumwarz.com). Over the weekend, I decided to try a small project using Gosu and Chipmunk in Ruby. I was surprised how easy it was to get something up and running. I was doubly surprised at how well it performed.

Here's a video of the gameplay test I put together. The framerate is much smoother than it is in the video, but you can still get an idea of how it looks:

I've also attached a screenshot.

Excellent work!

Would love to check out the source code for it

I'm not sure what I'm going to do with it at this point.

Normally I'd release the source in a second, but I have a feeling that some day I might want to turn it into an actual game. Then again, if I release it as Ruby the source will be released anyway :P

Not sure!

I don't want to stomp on the concept of Open Source, but MacRuby's compiler is already on the horizon for the Mac platform at least… ;)

ah, I didn't realise it actually compiled it

If I was you I would release the source code as a Gosu/Chipmunk demo
as releasing the source code will help people learn Ruby and Gosu/Chipmunk

it would be great if you make a full game

Ive released the source code for Arthur's Adventures

I am currently making Arthur's Adventures into a full game

Arthur's Adventures is based on Cptn Ruby
