As far as I can tell
Gosu uses the following for Audio Library's as default on each platform

Windows - FMOD
Linux - SDL_mixer
Mac OSX - (Currently FMOD,though FMOD will soon be replaced with OpenAL)
Iphone - OpenAL

What are the chances that OpenAL or SDL mixer will be implementing into the windows version of gosu?

What Audio Library does Gosu use on Mac OSX?

OS X is just switching from FMOD to OpenAL with the upcoming release. Audio libraries have already been discussed a lot here, for example see here: http://www.libgosu.org/cgi-bin/mwf/topic_show.pl?pid=120.

Thanks for the info Julian

I had a bit of a look on the main page and the wiki ,though didnt find what I was looking for
sorry I should have looked at more of the posts in the forum

Thats great news that OSX is switching from FMOD to OpenAL with the upcoming release

Will windows get the same treatment?in one of the upcoming  releases?
I really hope it does,as that will save me having to pay for FMOD on Windows, which would be awesome!

I won't add more to the topic before having committed anything to SVN.

If the hypothetical first commercial game to use Gosu and FMOD will ever come to existence, changing it to use SDL_mixer on Windows should seriously be the least of problems, compared to the time it takes to build a full game.

Yeh I agree it is only $100 to get a Shareware / Hobbyist License of FMOD, I will forget about OpenAL or SDL_Mixer
and work on the game itself
