Hi everyone!

This is my first Gosu project (and my mm... 4ยบ? project in pure code) and my coding habits are bad, so dont kill me when see the code xD

Im trying to make a Template for jRPG games for people who dont know too much about ruby but can defend theirselves.
Im not a pr0 (from 1 to 10 I givemyself a 4) but who cares? (i dont care).

The template is in an initial stage and have some bugs (NPCs collisions have some problems and the menu drops the framerate) but "works".

Is divided in scenes (Scene_Title, Scene_Map, Scene_Menu, etc) to make easier the creation and will have a full collection of windows to make menus easily.
for now have:
-Title (background image, music and a window with options)
-Menu (location, money, steps, time played, options window and status window)
-Map (2 layers and "NPC"s)

The template include an Initial.rb file to edit some things easily.
The maps are loaded with 2 .txt files (first layer and second layer) (ill change this later to 1 file with multilayer, npcs, name, etc)

and I think is all for now.

Two videos of the project in action (the first is an early version, the second is of yesterday):
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IvhYDBGe1y0&fmt=22

you can get the files here:

PD: if someone can take a look in the menu zone to fix the fps drop will be cool :D

PD2: im spanish, sorry  for my bad english :P

Nice, and good to see you already have basic ingame menus :) Can't wait to see them in action, just trying to design some myself.

(Rest is nice looking too, but I already knew it from IRC ;) )

I like the menu selection noises. :D

Fixed the Scene_Menu framerate drop, thanks Maverick for the suggestions :D

Now ill start to remake the map load system, loading from .txt is not appropiate for background/layers/events system, if someone have any suggestion, is welcome :D

Looks like a great alternative to the RPG maker, and something I might try :)

Hey, how did you do fading? im about to add that to Bwock :)

@jblovloss:

in your draw():
          $window.draw_quad( 0,0,@color,
                              $window.width,0,@color,
                              $window.width,$window.height,@color,
                              0,$window.height,@color,999)

Where @color = Gosu::Color.new(0,0,0,0)     .. and then you change @color.alpha between 1-255 depending on if you wanna fade in or out.
