Up Topic Gosu / Gosu Exchange / How do I compile Tutorial.cpp in Linux ?
- - By hamstur Date 2012-04-10 02:51
Hello there. I've been fiddling with this for a little bit now and I'm completely lost. I have followed the instructions (Getting started on Linux), but I can't figure out the last step, i.e. how to actually compile the game. I don't know how to "compile with gosu-config --cxxflags and gosu-config --libs" and I can't find the solution with Google searces either. If someone could give me a clue, like for example what the command like or makefile to compile Tutorial.cpp would look like, that would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

There is an example Makefile on https://github.com/jlnr/gosu/wiki/Getting-Started-on-Linux. For Tutorial.cpp, you would simply use Tutorial.o instead of main.o player.o.

On the command line, you really need to use the backtick, like this: g++ my_file -o my_game ´gosu-config -cxxflags´ ´gosu-config --libs´ (<- I had to use ´ instead of ` because the latter is interpreted by the board software).
